How to cook Butter Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add onion and sauté until softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

3.Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

4.Add garam masala, coriander, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper to the skillet and stir to combine with the onion mixture.

5.Add chicken cubes to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned on all sides.

6.Add chopped tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 5-6 minutes until softened.

7.Add heavy cream and butter to the skillet and stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

8.Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with chopped cilantro (if using).

9.Serve with rice or naan bread.
